Multiple Practice Diving Trials to Earn Scuba Dive Certifications to Restore Our Oceans with SpiritUs

This May, we marked a thrilling milestone for our SpiritUs team: our first practice dive session with our scuba coach. As we arrived at the training site, the crisp sea breeze carried both excitement and nerves. All members of the team know that small mistakes can make the whole team dangerous. After a detailed briefing on safety procedures and equipment checks, we suited up in our wetsuits and entered the water for the first time as aspiring divers.

The initial moments underwater were filled with awe, watching the light dance through the surface and feeling the quiet hum of the ocean surround us. Guided by our coach, we practiced skills such as mask clearing, buoyancy control, and underwater communication.

There were challenges—fogged masks, uneven breathing, but we relied on each other and pushed through, gaining confidence with every movement. This session wasn’t just about learning technique; it was about building trust, resilience, and a shared sense of purpose. After this test diving, we earned an Open Water diving license.

As we surfaced, we felt a renewed drive to continue our training–not just for the certification, but for the greater mission waiting beneath the waves.
